we dont have as brand new trucks like some of you guys probably have anyways.

Unless you have 8 alternators, like those guys who do the keydown competitions...

I've always got better performance out of Wilson antennas but that's my preference.
Just a comparison on my personal vehicles for example. I have Wilson and k40 mag mounts on two of my trucks. Almost identical. Both had stock cobra radios. The Wilson always performs better. I've seen the same in big trucks just don't have a similar comparison. -

sick of putting the standard k40 magnet mount on top lol

That Sirio looks cool but at 82" overall its gonna be hard for most trucks to use it without banging overpasses.

Here goes the best antenna for a high power situation is a stainless steel whip, full quarterwave.
Do not use magnetic antennas for running power, the ground if nothing else is insufficient for high power.
There really is not any reason for running 6K in a mobile. I doubt seriously the charging system is up for it, But if your going to just do not key up near anyone else you will fry the radios that are near to you, like in a truck stop. The guy next you will not be in a good mood when you key up and smoke rolls out of his radio.
If you do this you need and solidly mounted antenna to like a ball mount or a stud mount. You may also want to invest in 7/8 Andrews Superflex Heliax for antenna cable. -
