According to Coconino County's official website, the ordinance that would have banned any use of two way radios has now been amended to remove our radios from such illegal restrictions! This after consulation with Arizona amateur operators. I know they were informed (politely, of course) that their ordinance was illegal and would be tested in Federal court. I know they were nicely informed that it is the Federal Communications Commission that has authority over two way radios and that even THEIR radio systems were licensed by FCC, not them.
For the latest on this I suggest you visit their site for the news!

I am still working on my Petition for Proposed Rulemaking for amateur radio operators with mention to include ALL radio users in this country. This is NOT over because other ill-informed local jurisdictions, ignorant of electronics, WILL attempt this same thing. It should be nipped in the bud NOW rather than later.
And this thing is a lot of WORK! Expensive, too, with copies going to all 9 Commissioners!:yes2557:

Thank you for your efforts. It is good to know that at least on some level, government is responsive.
