    Well tried it out this evening and the jury is still out. Talked to one guy about a half mile away and he said turn the mic gain up it sounds a little quiet. I had it up as high as it goes. Also something has been done with it. When I tried the bright/dim switch, the volume gets louder through the speaker when on bright and lower on dim. Don't know what thats about, it doesn't change the brightness at all. Guess I will have to get someone to look at it to see if it's all hacked up.

    Sounds like someones golden screwdriver may have scratched a trace in the wrong place.

    Yes the radio can be tuned up very well indeed.

    Here in Cal about the only tech I know of is Jerico's
    in Bakersfield and he could make it loud and proud.

    Mic gain on a stock radio is actuaaly labeled incorrectly, it will turn you down not up

    Could be set to go up or down 40 channels on that switch.

    Come to find out, that's what it is I believe. I was on lsb and when I hit the switch, I heard people talking. Couldn't understand them, but could hear.
