I searched and didn't find much. I bought that amp for my cb. My cb has already been peaked and tuned. The shop assured me it's ready for a amp. So today I got this amp and I can not find anything about proper installation of it. Like power requirements, fuse requirements. I don't think it's a good idea to hook it up to the cb connections.
Also mounting it? Can I mount it upside down on the cb? The cb is hanging from overhead.

It should have a fuse, 12 amp fuse.
If your radio is putting out under 10 watts, then it will be find.
You can hang it upside down, but make sure there is air flow around it.WonderBoy Thanks this. -
Do I need to go straight to battery with it? Or would cb power wires work? The wiring on the amp is small maybe 12g wires or 14. Which tells me it does need a lot of powet.

I would use 10 awg wire to the battery. With a 15 or 20 amp fuse close to the battery. Ground strap from the amp to a close chassis ground.WonderBoy Thanks this. -
The KL-203 need no more than 2 watts. 1 1/2 watts would be better. And your amp should last for many years. I've run one since 2002 at these power levels. Anything above 2 watts has been know to make the 203 run hot. And die an early death. It has a built in 12 amp fuse.

Well decided to return it and get a different radio. Ended up with a general lee. Now to run this radio straight to battery.

The RM ITALY KL203 (or -p version with pre-amp) will run fine off a company truck CB power circuit (15A).
I had Rays CB Shop upgrade the amp external wiring on mine, but it probably wasn’t necessary.
With a UNIDEN 885, and a co-phased Skipshooter antenna pair, I was seeing 70w Forward with 1w Reflected.Meteorgray Thanks this.
