Run a predator 10k myself, super lite, broad banded, handle pretty much most anything other than the biggest boxes. You could put new shaft on old coil, probably have to retune.

    Tall Mike Thanks this.

    It'll take a 16pill no problem.

Once again, thanks for all the info. Wasn't concerned with weight when I said "heavy", was just referring to the look. Don't want someone to see that antenna and KNOW I'm stepping harder than most of them. I'm just looking for something that will handle my 600-700 watts, but not look like im trying to "crush the competition" so to speak. (Go ahead and laugh. This is the most fun we grain haulers have around here) Something that won't look goofy on my little truck. I only talk on AM so band is no problem.

IF you like the Wilson, it will handle the extra power. I'm running a WIldon 5K with my set up.

Yep. Love my 2k. It's just that I got it when my boss fired a driver and I got his truck.. And everything he left in it. Used this antenna on the next 4 trucks I've driven without a single problem. However, this grain elevator I haul for now, I spend a lot of time during harvest seasons out in fields and between all the tree lined turn rows, and the small low clearance pit dumps at the terminal, my whip has gotten warped and scarred up. Not sure how much longer she'll hang in there. That's why I'm leery about anything fiberglass, or anything expensive. That's why I went back with another 2k. Just picked a dud I guess. LoL.!

I was wondering about that also. Never seen that but not familiar with that unit. Current amp pulls 35 amps, has 10 gauge coming out the back. I use the same going direct to the batteries and same going to frame. Bust well over 600 watts. Has worked great for almost a year. Wires do not heat up and as far as I can tell, does just fine.

See if anyone could help me out. I have a company truck a peterbilt 2014 it has the battery's under the passenger seat. I just can't figure out how to run 4 gauge wires from battery under passenger seat to the texas star dx 500. I been trying to figure out how to run the wires but I can't find a way. I might have to drill a hole through the battery box unless someone who has been through this process could help me out. The amp is going to be very close to the battery on the floor so I don't need long wire 3 or 4 ft. The most but need help. ..Thank you. ...................... do I need to drill hole, or is there a way to run the wires. Someone please rescue me.
