The 2950DX is a 10 watt dead-key radio at service manual specs. If your radio isn't doing this, then its been hacked up. Take it to a real shop or send it to RCI and have them put it back to spec with 100% modulation, and you will have a nice radio.

Your not going to find a 100w radio you can just run off the fuse box posts without blowing fuses left and right or burning down the truck...They pull too many amp's which is why they need to be wired directly to the battery.
On SSB you don't need allot of power. I talk all the time on my base to guys in Australia and the UK, and even in Germany who all were in mobiles just running stock radios...

And just a couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine was on a cruse ship out in the Atlantic near the Bahama's, with a Uniden 980, and a Wilson magnet mount antenna stuck on the balcony of the ship, and I made contact with him on channel 37 lsb and I'm in Dallas! Before leaving on his cruse, at the last minute he went and bought the radio and antenna to take with him on the cruse...He also had a little battery charger he took along to power it...The radio was just barefoot out of the box, but we still managed to talk to each other a couple of different times...

Here is a Video-gate I made at the last minute of our contact...(I didn't have time to get the camera set-up right, but did manage to get him on the gate before conditions dropped off)
