To be a " 10 " Meter radio the least it would have to do is cover CW on 28.000 -28.200 mhz OR SSB on 28.300-28.500 mhz OR FM on 29.500-29.700 Mhz
Otherwise it is useless ....

I had a lincoln back years ago worked my 1st 12 meter contacts with it.
I rebuilt the Rf stage added a peramp for 12/10, added Channel guard filters added a chipswitch and would still have it except I bought the IC706. Nice simple radio.Attached Files:

I understand that there are some parts of 10 meter that are being used officially or for non voice comunication. I have heard the beeps etc, I am not stupid. But there is a vast amount of "channels" on export radios that are not being used for anything period.
My understanding is that export radios are not certified mostly due to the power they can put out when modified for 11 meter use. Again a stupid rule that is broken by litterally thousands of users. -
28.000 -29.700 mhz is a HAM BAND world wide it is not going to change ...
25.000 -27.999 is land mobile ( CB is in that group ) but called personal radio service this is not covered by ITU rules as far as the HAM ONLY bands. Land mobile bands can be used for a CB style use.
This has been the law since 1927 in 1947 29.700 - 30.000 was changed to a part 90 sunband in 1958 the SHARED band from 26.96 -27.25 was removed from Part 90 and went to a new part 19.
( here is a 1947 list )

NOTE CB was a shared band and HAM not cb ...
Anyone has the right to file the papers and get power levels changed all you got to do is show a REASON why and win your point ..... If someone dosn't like 4 watts have at it .... -
Really and truly, would you want some of these guys you hear now on the radio to be able to go into any place that sells CBs and buy one that puts out 100+ watts. There are already enough idiots who have figured out the linear thing and are trashing up the airways now!! I like it the way it is now. 4 watts is plenty for beginners, nobody bothers us when we increase the wattage by what ever means as long as we stay "around" the CB band and don't interfere with airports and TV stations. Putting up with the overpowered trash talking bozos is just part of it. You usually only find them in big cities where it is easy for them to hide and remain anonymous, or around big truck stops. I don't get to hung up on what is legal and what is not, because obviously the feds aren't too worried about it either. It is easier on them, and cheaper for the tax payer, if they just leave well enough alone. We don't need a bunch of new rules and laws pertaining to CB, just leave well enough alone. (Can you imagine the bureaucracy they would have to create to police the CB band. Talk about raising the national debt!!!!)
