First CB for a noob. I look at everthing that is considered a tool as something that provides the function it was intended to perform is done well, and has longevity through durability.

What i am finding as confusing is that there are some with bluetooth to connect through on phone calls, which will save on buying a second item and that cost.

    however,

Are most current behemoth company trucks outfitted with modern stereo systems that are bluetooth capable already, so no sense in doubling up???

...and what would you buy and why?

    thanks.

Cobra 19 or 29, external speaker, Noise cancelling mic (rk56 or astatic), 5.5 foot francis or firestick antenna. You should be able to put it together for less than a buck and half. Dependable lower cost, you could get it off amazon or Ebay for less but be very careful, I would seriously caution against used radios unless you can see and hear them work.

I know where you can get good used stuff. With a 90 warranty too! Course unless you are passing through, you would have to factor in shipping. Most of these deals are the bare radio, no mic, no power cord either, or mounting bracket. But they have all been peaked and tuned, properly I might add, and have talk back.

I miss my Collins and my Invader 2000, never should have sold them.

    Is that a 75-A4?

I had two r390a's in the past, one was mint out of box condition with original meters. I should never have sold them.

I happen to know of a man who is looking to sell a nice Viking Valiant- and the National Receiver. Shipping from Arizona might kill you though!

Nothing like the nice warm glow of tubes on a cold desert night. I like the buzz and diming lights when you key, besides it helps keep the coffee warm

I had one radio shipped from Yuma a couple years ago, the thing cost me more in shipping than I paid for the radio. That was a lightweight SP-600, so I guess I'll pass on those.

I agree, it was always nice to warm up part of the house with the HB amp, or one of the BAs I have.

Again have to ask, is that a 75-A4?
