I remember yrs ago i had a weather warning on an old cobra...Never knew it actually had a warning buzzer /bell ect.....I was on my way to texas when it went off and it freaked me out..I turned off the radio but the warning kept goin..I didnt have a clue what it was..I end up pulling the power wire and brought my cb to a shop asking what happened..lol

And as for the OP... US, Canada and Australia (and possibly even others, but those are the three I know for sure) have identical AM CB regulations and frequencies. They now have VHF CBs in Australia and Canada, but 27MHz AM CBs remain legal to use in both countries.
What this means, in a nutshell, is that a US CB is fine to use in all three countries, and 27MHz AM CBs from Canada and Australia can be used here without issue.
So this "Canadian compliance" thing is a crock. It might just mean it has a Canadian gov't stamp of approval on the back of it, instead of an FCC type-acceptance plate, but that's not worth another $140. -
If a CB is FCC compliant it is also Industry Canada compliant.
