Didn't think I would like the Cascadia but this ol' Cassie is growing on me. She got a workout today. Found an excellent cb/sirius antenna mount at a TA cb shop. I don't have a spot mirror and that's where I'll mount. Still may have the installation done by a shop as I want it to look good.
Iloveatrucker, wouldn't be the first time a do messed with a driver. [emoji57]
Seeking advice on initial setup.

If you use the mirror/bird perch mount, be sure and remove the stock antenna behind it on the side of the sleeper. It will interfere with the bird perch mount antenna and make the SWR higher.
-
Don't I need that antenna for my radio??
-
It will work with the right side one only. Don't expect much from the AM band out of these trucks....at least none of ours work worth a hoot, even the 2015s.
-
Is the "factory" antenna on the driver side the radio and the passenger side the cb?? Or vise versa?

I just installed a Galaxy 95t into a Cascadia for my son, it has a bar on the rear of the cab that I mounted the 90 degree angle antenna mount to.
I ran Times Mirror RG213u from the rear of the radio down the right windshield post under the door kickplate and cabinets in the rear and out an exsisting rubber plug in the floor, up the exhaust brace, leaving a drip loop between the antenna mount and the bar where I wire tied it.
I installed the short mount on the Monkey Made Antenna tuned easily to 1.1 to 1.
Dead Key 10 watts audio swing to just over 100 according to my Bird 43 meter.
Added a Motorola tin car speaker and a Roadking 56 mic.
Left the stock antennas alone, as well as the cobra 29 in the factory mount. I did disconnect the antenna cable at the Cobra and installed a shorting pulg on the Cobra radio to prevent the Galaxy from smoking it.
Radio works load and proud, I used a simular setup when I drove a Cascadia only using the mirror bolt extension, still did not remove the factory antennas SWR was about 1.5 to 1 I believe. -
Nice so it sounds like there is hope. I believe I may even install myself.
I've heard using the headache bar behind the cab. I always wondered if you'd get too much interference. Guess the answer is negative. -

Got er done!! Decided to have the pro's do it. Exit 42 off I 77 in Troutman NC. Joe and Larry really know their stuff. Highly recommend them.
Got the sirius hooked up too. I did that while Joe was installing. They even tossed in some screws for the sirius adapter that would have meant me running around like a head less chicken to find.
Only two more devices and I will feel complete. Going to add a personal trucker specific gps and a dash cam. -
Oh forgot to add. The cb works fantastic and the install looks awesome!!
