Identify Shops

So here is the result. The radio was last in the shop at the 126 in TN on I-40. We have to concede that he may have let the radio out of the shop without doing any tuning that wasn't already done. But, knowing what I've heard about both these shops, I will guess probably not. I can't give technical answers cause I'm not a tech, but here is roughly what I was told: The tune wasn't too bad. You could tell it wasn't done by a real tech who has studied electronics, but whoever did it followed the internet directions pretty well and it wasn't half bad. One of the shops did a quirky "anti squeal mod" which renders your "talkback" switch inoperative. It will also kill your receive when if goes bad rendering your radio useless. It was removed and the radio was very stable. Of course the radio left "my tech's" shop with a professional tune and everything operating at it's optimum for performance and durability.

I have to admit, I was surprised that the results of this little "look see" turned out as well as they did. I will admit we don't have any definite, rock solid info on either shop, but what evidence we have is somewhat favorable for the shop in TN since they had the radio last. I might also add, despite what I've heard, there is nothing here to reflect badly on the shop in Prescott cause we don't really know who did what. Neither shop satisfied the radio owner's complaints however, either by fixing the perceived problem or explaining what the problem really was. (mostly a crappy Cascadia antenna system it turns out, 2015 model) So this wasn't as revealing as I'd hoped. FWIW.
