They no longer make the Cobra 148 in a Nightwatch model. They only make it in the 148 GTL now . You might check with some dealers for some old stock on the NW style. I personally wouldn't care for the ST model with Soundtracker. Other than this feature , the Cobra 148 has the options you are looking for.

well, i went up and above, i skipped right over cobra, even though the 148 wasnt too bad, i got a galaxy DX 949

i decided night watch wasnt too important to me, i mean it is nice, but not necessary, and i did fine with out it. the new wradio has some blue led's installed anyway [and hey.. my trucks blue]

its got an echo board, its got a superswing kit installed, it deadkeys at 1 watt on low power, on high it dead keys at around 8 to 10 watts, it can swing to 30ish max, its got a GREAT tuning job, it also has a 10kc installed, the extra channels? Anyone find any use for this ever? do people use it?

i also bought a astatic dx-1 road devil noise canceling power mic.

its also got the swr meter with auto calibrate, talkback, and roger beep,[which ill leave off]

and can anyone tell me what the "built in 347 frequency counter jack" on the rear is for?

Great , that 949 ought to do you a really good job . I like the SSB most Sideband radios have better filtering & this will benefit your reception & reduce static !
Sounds like you had a bunch of toys put in there too ! Did you buy it used or new ?
Hey ' if you are pleased with the tech & the radio you have you are doin' great !

Yeah, i got it used technically, Umm... now how well do you know the operation of side band? cuz i only got the chance to try it once really, and the dudes voice was either REAL high, or REAL low pitched, pretty hard to understand, i played with the clarifier and such.... and so did he, but we were relativley close to each other, Can you give me some tips on using SSB

and do these mean anything to you?
