Thank you very much for the info. Maybe they will be able to do something w/ the radios i already have. One was in my 4-wheeler back in '95 when I was T-boned. Haven;t used it since. and the rest I was given by someone who didn't want anything to do w/ CB's anymore. Non the less thanks a ton for the info.

I drive by Clay's every morning on my way to Abilene and hopefully one day I'll be able to leave early enough to drop in... it's been awhile.
Does any one know if they take trade ins? -
The chubby hispanic fellow behind the counter talked me into having the power strip replaced if that was needed (whick it was) and then a high watt mod added for a "special price". It was $30 just to bust open the radio and take a look at it, but if I had the work done then the $30 wouldn't apply, just the cost of whatever they did to the radio.
It was while I was waiting on the work to be done that I noticed the BRAND SPANKIN' NEW black-chrome Cobra 29ltds WITH talkback and echo STOCK (in a totally different location than the other radios) for about the same price as what I was just committed to spend. #### the luck...
Anyhow, the radio works fine. The output is really good for a cobra 29, but I think the reciev could be better... however that could just be the SWRs weren't set. Seems when I stopped in and had work done 7 yrs ago, the guy came out and set my SWRs at no extra cost.
So, a week later I stopped in at the Ranger Hill Radio shop just west of Clays and met Danny. He was one of the guys that worked for Clays years ago and I believe he was the guy that worked on my radio yrs ago. His prices were probably around 15% less than Clays, but he didn't have what I was looking for.
While sitting at the Petro in Amarillo, a driver by the handle "camshaft" told me about a lady with a shop a little ways from the loop in Amarillo. I called her to see if she had what I was looking for and, sure enough.... Folks, I'm sportin' a barely used, peaked and tuned General Lee for just at $200.
... now if I can just figure out how to use all the extra bands. -
Glad you got outta Clay's with a heartbeat, they do a fine job of "Selling Stuff"
Danny and acouple others are "WHO PUT CLAYS ON THE MAP"
Clay got abit greedy and the end result was Ranger Hill CB Shop!
Great guys to do buisness with at a fair price.

i have a cobra 40 channel cb radio and i went to hook it up yesterday in my 2006 freightliner heritage edition truck an it would not come on. I know it works cuz i took it out of my other freightliner when i drove just 2 months ago. what can i do to see what might be wrong with it?

Check the in-line fuse on the power cord, check the accessory fuse on the fuse panel etc,
If that isn't the cure then then you probably have it wired back wards,if so then damage has occurred. You must take it to a tech for repair which shouldn't be more then $30 -
Hi! Ok, i looked at the fuses and i need to go buy those little ones so i will do that sometimes today. I sure hope i didnt fry anything in the radio. Thanks again for the info.
