Changing Mics

Anyone know how to replace the stock Galaxy DX 959 with a Road King RK56?. the Galaxy is a 4 pin, 2 bk, 1 rd, 1 yl. the Road King is a 5 pin, 1 bl, 1 wht, 1 rd, 1 bk, 1 bare. thanks. P.S. if these are not connected right will it burn up the radio?

Off the top of my head i don't have the wireing for that radio but any CB shop should be able to help you out and wire it for you. It want burn the radio up but it want work if its not wired right and it may be keyed all the time so it is best to have some one wire it for you that knows what they are doing.

if you do want to attempt it your self you can google it. those schematics are everywhere "how to rewire..."

Ask your radio shop but you may have the wrong RK. I have a RK56 on a connex radio and the RK is a 4 pin no need to rewire. I am by no ways any kind of expert, but you should be able to find a 4 PIN RK.

IIRC, a 4 PIN RK mic for the 959 Galaxy will be the same as for a Cobra 29, should interchange AFAIK.

yes rk makes 4 pin and they interchange no problem
