antenna wire

Hey guys, I accidentaly cut my antenna wire yesturday when I was mounting my antenna on the mirrors of my truck, my question is can I cut and re-wire the end of the antenna cable so I can keep using it? if so how?

if you cut the end of the cable yeah sure, but you cant splice that type of coax. its very ineffective. dont get me wrong a couple out their have done it and had it worked but its not recommended. If you cut it and just want to put a new end on, go to radio shack pick up a pl-259 connector, and it all depends on which one you get on how it connects. you can get one you slide on and tighten a set screw or you can get a solder on tip, if you havent done it the solder less is very easy.
