i took a cobra 29 blk. chrome in to the shop in W. Memphis TN. he screwed the pooch on it. sounded weak so wanted it checked out , he changed the finals out in it , I didn't make it 2miles.
took it in to BIG DOG C.B. SHOP in the Petro on exit 148 on I-70 in MO.
he did it right very good guy to work with and knew hit ####, also found that the echo broad was going bad, In defense for the W.Memphis shop the finals could have been going bad but the issue was definitely the echo broad going bad. the finals were a part of it if they were actually going bad. i now have the Mofset finals in it and a actual Conex echo board. so it to me sounds good so I'm happy .

the biggest thing i am looking for now that seems to be a pita to figure out.
conex 3300 or Magnum S-980?

want to get in to the 10k bands and also side bands. but want a good radio prefer one with a freq counter on it also. in stead of a stand alone one .

If anyone can give me a site or something to help me make a choice or a opinion even please let me know

Newby here, getting back into C.B. after a long hiatus. I read through all the posts and couldn't find any shops in my area (Southeast Wyoming/Northern Colorado) listed. There is no mention that I could find in the black or white lists. I considered going to the shop by the Johnsons corner stop outside Loveland CO until I found the article online saying they got tagged by the FCC to the tune of $7,000.00! I don't know if I want to walk in there with my Galaxy to get it tuned. Anyone know of a good shop even remotely close to me?

ranter,

that shop might not even tune your radio because of said fine. if you just stay on the cb freq then you shouldnt get a ticket for using an export radio

I use a galaxy 95T2...works great....I believe in a good antenna over spending to much on a radio...you can't shove bunches of talk down a small pipe without clogging..lol

Mine is just a 949. Believe it or not I don't want any mods or silly stuff. I want to be sure it's working right after several years of really rough bouncing around in my 4X4.
