They will be open for business Monday, they are currently on vacation.
I would talk to them before ordering anything from them. Like everyone else, they appear to have their supporters and detractors.

The superwhackpack is an old mod done to radios called a "NPC MOD"(do a google search on it), if you don't mind paying three times what most any shop would charge then I say go for it. It's basically two small piece's of wire that are put in to over volt the finals. But if I were you I would just buy from a regular shop and have it peaked(peak meaning having it turned up to max watts) and tuned(a real tune is where the radio is put on a scope and check for alignment of frequency), not clipped or have the modulation turned up pass 100%. I have personally had two radios that Radioactive has worked on, one was used and the other new. Both had to be reworked and it cost as much to unwhack it as it did to have it done.

yeah, if i were you i would only go to a local place no where online somewhere where your "Cb buddies" say is good.... where the guy is most likely a ham and you can always come back and yell at him if he screws it up.

Yeap steer clear of Radio Active Radios and their Superhack pack.
Now if you are looking for some real nonsmoke and mirrors radio tuning then check out SparkysCB shack.
Al is one of the best in the business and he will not do you wrong and charge you extra. Heck his factory radios come peaked and tuned at the regular price. Nothing leaves his shop without it going over the bench first.Last edited by W5IT; 09.17.2008 at 09.48 PM. Reason:: Removed dead link
