Finals??

Just wondering what replacing my finals is gonna do for me and if its worth 60 bucks to do this. I found a pretty good shop that I feel comfortable with and its at exit 80 on I-70 in Ohio just north of the interstate. Had a tune up there and a modulator board put in and he did the work right in front of me and had a vast amount of very big meters and lots of tools and seemed like he knew what he was doing. Any help would be appreciated for a new cb lover.

Well it all depends on what finals are being installed... What they are supposed to do is give you more output from your radio.. Another words a typical radio like a Cobra 29 with new finals should be able to push 40's-50's watts with larger finals.... Depending on how hard you are pushing the new finals (brand and size makes a difference as well) also will determine how long they will last.. usually pushing a Cobra 29 in the 50's will not last long.. in the mid 40's it will last a very long time... (again manufacture of finals and size also effect)....

So, if you want more wattage out of you radio new finals are the way to go if you already had it peaked with stock finals... (Of coarse if you have a radio like Galaxy 95t that is already pushing 140-150 Watts the only way to get more would be A kicker, I have seen a 95T reported to be pushing 220W strait out of the radio.) Some newer radios allow for you to drop a larger pill in...

Is it worth $60? sure, its cheaper then buying a new radio...
