Galaxy 949 with built in amp?

I'm just curious as to if the Galaxy 949's have a built in amp in them like the 48T.

It's not really a "Built in amp" they're higher watt radios. CB radios build for the North American market are limited to 4 watts, radios built for the Europian market or HAM bands are built to put out more power. When you hear some solder jockey advertising a radio with a "built in kicker" keep driving, he's an Idiot. Most of those radios are way over priced, much better deals can be found on-line or from dealers such as AES or HRO.

Galaxy's with 3-digits (929, 949, etc.) are legal 4-watt CBs. Galaxy's with 2-digits (44, 88, 95, etc.) are so-called 10 meter radios which are often modified to operate on the CB channels. Some of the 2-digit "T" galaxy's have built-in amps.

So I have a question without buying a 10 meter radio which would be best like what model of a Connex or Galaxy?? I currently have a Cobra 29 but am looking for something with a lil more kick.

sounds like your saying the 949 is a higher watt radio......

the galaxy DX9## series are all legal 4 watt radios, 12watts on side band legal radios. galaxys are very tech friendly and can be easily modified to do some more power generally no more than 20 for a 949 and 30 for a 959....

the 95t2 is HIGHEND and can do close to 180 watts if tuned by someone who actually knows what they are doing... (if someone claims to get more than 200 its a lie... and dont trust them...)

i know the 94hp isnt a "big talker" i dont know much about the "t" but i assume its close to the same thing.... its more powerful but the 95's are MUCH better if your talking export radios.

hey coon, a tuned up 959 will do almost 30watts... not quite but you can get the most out of a 959 is a GREAT am talker and does well on sideband too.... and stock... they are legal cb radios, not high amp draw or anything. great radios!

if you go with a 959 you wont be upset.
