| Trucks refrigeration unit interferes with TV Recep Hi I've just joined and posted in the CB section hoping you blokes will know about interference? My next door neighbor has a Dairy truck which has an 'EEZ FREEZE' unit attached which when running causes my TV with a Digital STB to distort badly. It occurs whether it is plugged into a 24 amp socket connected to the house or when the diesel engine is running. Some of the causes suggested are sparks inside the motor cause the interference and can be solved by attaching a suppressor. Another is that it could be due to a fan and this may need to be replaced. To check which fan, it was suggested to disconnect the power, turn the Truck ignition off, turn on the unit and wait a minute for one of the fans to stop and check my TV for distortion. Another is to get say a lead sheet from Bunnings and drape it over the cover of the unit. Another said to go to a CB repairer and get them to use their meters to test for the source of the problem. None of the other Trucks at his work have this problem and it seems like the brand 'EEZ FREEZE' is the only one. We/I would appreciate any assistance with this as it has been going on for 5 months and the only TV station that is not effected is SBS. Thanks in advance Cheers - Moonlight |
