| I've never had anyone complain about me sounding like trash on my cobra 19 (made in china) the farthest I've gotten out during the day was about 2.5 miles. I think if you really want range that bad.. you should get your ham license [I believe the entree level license is enough - I understand the test is free too now?] and operate on the 2 meter band. all the transceivers I've seen are at least 50 watts. and then you can use all the filthy power you want. |

| So much easier to just buy a 10 meter and a good antenna and key up with 70+ watts for under $400.
