Firestick Antenna

Anybody here uses firestick antennas? I got one and was planning on installing my CB tomorrow and liked the overall look of putting a bracket on the bed of my truck for the antenna instead of doing the magnetic mount and worrying about the paint.

plus, I can just take the antenna off by screwing it off if I ever needed too.

I've used them to good success. I'd want steel for running power tho, and for best recieve. Not that you can't recieve on a screwdriver.

I have a Firestick on my truck right now, 4 footer. So far it's been decent. It does get out better than the stock antennas I had before. Right now, I'm just looking for a place to mount it, dern new truck doesn't have metal mirror hardware ('09 KW T2000), which is going to probably force me to use the stock mounts and run my own coax to it (the coax is shot in this thing).

well, I'm not driving a big truck. I have a pick up truck that my CB is in and I had a firestick antenna that I was going to use, so I installed it but when i went to the CB shop, my SWR wasn't very good. The guy was telling me that the firsestick antennas were good antennas but the firestick really wasn't the best antenna for my particular truck. I ended up getting an astatic antenna and have been pretty pleased with it.

I have the antenna mounted with a bracket on the front of my tailgate and the coax is running inside of my bed under my truck to the inside of my truck. so far, I don't really have any interference. there has been some more static than usual the past couple of days but other drivers were saying the same thing about their radios as well. I think it might have to do with the weather.
