| Question for 18-wheeler drivers... When I got my first CB back in the early 70s, I monitored and talked on ch. 19 daily as my job was an outside salesman in middle GA. Back then, all(?) truckers used 'handles'. Even non-truckers like myself used handles to identify our TXs. Today though, I almost never hear a handle used, not even from non-truckers. All I hear is "driver" and occasionally, "hand". Anyone have a theory why this is true? Is it true in other areas of the country?  |

| Oh yeah, it was '19' back in the 70s too. |

| There was a period that the truckers ran on Channel 11. The reason they moved to 19 was to ease the bleed over that was happening on channel 9. |

| I monitor 19 but use move to another channel to comunicate with a contact. myself and other drivers for our company usually switch to the "Farm" when we are running together. It is far enough away from all the splatter boxes that run 19. |
