| I found three good shops... The "rhino" in Milan, NM - he set my Cobra29 up nicely... There is a shop in columbus at the 81MM off I70...he correctly set my 4600 up...it was dead keying 100+ watts all the time regardless...he set me up pushing 10 watts to 50 watts dead key and now, amazingly, people can understand me! The is also a shop in Reading, PA...the Reading CB shop...he does really good work...he has my 3300HP set up nicely... I too have seen some really bad ones... Another thing is that your "technical" based questions might not be known to the old timers that simply grew up tuning radios...they didn't go to school to learn radios and electronics...they were simply taught how to fix radios...and while I agree that there are more hack shops than radio shops, you might be lumping others into the hack shops that actually are good guys. steved |

| THE Best CB Shop (Midwest) I have to throw my 2 cents in here.. If anyone ever gets by the Chicago area, Real World Electronics in Monee, Illinois is the best. People have been known to wait 4 or 5 hours to get their radio worked on. Been going there for 7 years now and no one would ever touch my radios but Sean and Dan. Apparently they rate so high that tech from RCI,(Makers of Ranger and Galaxy etc), call them and send new products for Sean to evaluate..Been there and seen it with my own eyes. I-57 exit 335 at Petro. I know this sounds like I have an interest in the shop, I don't. But the radios I run always get compliments and have been 100% reliable. |
