MS. Smith Seems to be VERY Busy these days!!!

Ms Smith, the replacement for the retired Riley Hollingsworth seems to be VERY busy and she is going after hams (GOOD!) and CBers alike who break the rules! There are around 10 warning letters at the Amateur Radio Relay League site (google it if you want to read them). The majority of these letters seem to be against CB operators for interfering with 10 Meters.

I know they were working very hard in Indianapolis off I-465 at exit 4 around the truck stops here a few weeks ago. Heard of quite a few people getting busted over there including the cb shops.

I've heard that exit (Harding St.) is a haven for motor mouth CB rambos. That must be why the past few times I passed by there I hardly heard anyone on the radio.

But of interest I was not aware of any CB shops there still selling illegal radio gear.

Yeah lots of CB Rambo's around there, along with peddlers, lot lizzards, anything else you want etc......... You can't have a conversation within 5 miles of there usually on most days. Yep both of the cb shops got busted from what i heard. I know for fact the one did.

You just jogged my clouded memory....I think when I passed thru there about a year ago is when I last remembered hearing someone get on 19 and advertise their Connex radios and such f/s. It was one of the CB shops as I recall. Of course I laughed at their prices because I know where I can get them for less if I really wanted to, and they're new not hacked up.

I just went thru there again about 2 weeks ago, not a peep on the radio. Hhhmm.....when did the FCC put the smack down at exit 4?

I just looked at the FCC Enforcement page. Not one mention of any sort of activity in Indianapolis or even Indiana at any rate. There are letters being sent to folks in Ohio, Montana, North Carolina, Michigan and California.

There are also RFI issues sent to a variety of power companies.

What is the source of these Indianapolis smackdowns?

I have looked over the ARRL site and there is nothing mentioned there. The link provided for enforcement actions goes to the FCC enforcement site which has nothing listed. If its not listed on that site, then there was no smackdown by the FCC.
