Cool TEXAS STAR DX250 WITH cOBRA BASE

Mother inlaw gave me my deceased father inlaws cobra 2000tl base unit.i bought a texas star dx250 linear to go with it.i did not up grade it to broadband.i just got it the way it was out of the box.will i have any problems hooking both these together.i thinking it 8 meter because i didn`t upgrade it.or will i need to take the texas star somewhere to get it upgraded to broadband.
My father inlaw was into this because he was a driver, some of you might even know of him.i think his handle was esquire and drove for bestway and worked for apex trailer in indiana,

I believe that your are actually asking to convert the Texas Star from CW transmitter to AMP conversion. If you are handy with low power soldering iron, search the web you can find documentation to do this. But if you haven't ever done this before, best leave the conversion to a shop in that is in this type of business..
