CB's SHOULD be positve tools, but too many [jerks] abuse them!! I have a life---i.e. friends & relatives at home, don't need all that useless chatter with those who don't!!

Re: How often do you Use/Listen to the CB Radio?

I used to never turn mine on when i was driveing once i got my Ham license. it was to noisy with nothing i allways had one but only used it if i was running with a non ham and we went to some off the wall quite channel. It was good at one time back in the early 70's or late 60's we had a good time on it and had allot of good freinds then i can still remember my call sign but i digress those days went away when they gave away the 11 mtr band to CB and did away with the license requirements. any way now I'm in iraq and the army guys stil use them to comunicate truck to truck and it works real good over here no truck stops and no billy big riggers just insurgents and and bad guys so they use them for what they need too.

Cool

Nothing wrong with private jawing on another channel---too many use 19 and tie it up. And, unfortunately, there are too many drivers who want a 'conversation,' which means they talk and you listen!!

That's the way it was intended to be used!! Unfortunately, my experiences are not very positive. I would like to leave mine on for trucker feedback about my rig if have problems---I usually do leave it on when running CA at night for the smokey reports. Of course everyone knows that the CA trucker 55 mph speed limit is really 62 mph day/60 mph nite without getting a ticket. Been driving as such in CA for 7 years w/o any tickets..

Of course it's on if the truck is moving. Where else are you going to find such quality entertainment, and useful information, all bundled into one package.

I shut it off at a TS. Too much foolishness.

I tune it down between the hours of 12:06 and 15:00 because what Maha Rushee has to say far outweighs the gibberish on 19. However, just in case something important to know may occur, it's only squelched back a little.

I've been driving for 31 years, My first radio was a 23 channel radio shack realistic . I still love to dish it out when they start Sorry. But the CB is always great for traffic reports, smokeys, and BS

Happy New year everyone
