Commercials on the CB

When did it become okay for businesses to advertise on the CB? I thought it was illegal.

Sometimes you can't even hear other drivers because of people advertising their CB repair shops, massage parlors and cafes.

It's still illegal. You reporting them? If not, the FCC doesn't have the time or resources to try to track them down. Even if you do report, the FCC is like most government agencies: long on jobs and short on money.

Actually I was told by another trucker it's okay now. I'll report them but I'm sure it's not going to get action for the very reasons you list. But at least I'll feel better when I tell the girlies who are offering "fun private massages" to take it elsewhere.

I heard one a few weeks ago. I was in central Alabama and heard some radio shop advertising their prices on connex radios somewhere out of Florida.

The FCC link is broken, but the most recent I can find from other sites still has the prohibition.

Have hubby get on the mic passing the Love's/Flying J on I-80 in Wells, NV...have him say anyone listening....

the response: Hey there trucker, free shower, free coffee, free conversation, no obligation!

Give you three guesses!

I'm sure I can imagine.......I've heard it bluntly listed as I drove through Nashville at 3 am. The woman listed services and fees.

I got sick of it and got on mic and said "omg you're so over charging and especially after the health dept put up that notice saying y'all are suppose to stay closed until your syphillis tests come back." Man that woman got mad at me.

You're not supposed to advertise your business over the CB but then again you're also not supposed to play music but it still happens.

It happens 18 miles away at a truck wash, it happened in Indianapolis selling Connex radios with "tham thar extree channels".
