Difference between Magnum S3 and Connex 3300 hp ch Chrome

Can anyone tell me the difference between these. I currently have the Magnum S3 that has been upgraded. I have had this CB for 4 years and am considering upgrading ot the Connex. Any suggestions if I should/should not do it? Would it be an upgrade or a down grade? Or, if you know about another CB that is around 200 dollars that is awesome, let me know. I just don't want to waste my money if it is a bad choice. Thanks!

Terry

33HP,Gen Lee,Gen Washington only difference tween'em is a flag sticker
on the face.
Chassis and guts are identical.
If you dont "need" the short channels look into the RFX Modded Cobra/Uniden's.
They destroy the Connex's listed above(I dont care who hack's em.)
70 watts verses 120+ is a no brainer.

Disclaimer on the RFX75.
"That video" you see on Youtube is a modded Cobra tested on a "PEAK WATT METER"
Strapping one in your shiny truck will not net the same numbers as is seen in the video.

They will do abit over 80-90 watts net when properly installed.

Must be a stinger board install to see that kind of power. I HATE THOSE THINGS,they are a pain to get to work corectly. Just to much RF buld up in side the radio after the install.

If you like your Magnum then i would just stick with it. Your not going to see a big difference between the two and those new mosfet Connex radios have alot of trash in the receive. I my self have always like the sound of a Magnum over a Connex or Galaxy but thats just me.

Really if you want a bigger radio then have you thought about a small 250 watt amp? Should be able to get a Texas Star 250 for under $200.00.

Oh NO ! guess you misunderstood my post.
I just picked up a RFX modded Cobra and was randomly
commenting on the performance.Per the YT vid people may have the impression they cant put all that fire to the wire(120-130) which will never happen.

The RFX is a "replacement" final section for several of the export class(Stryker,Magnum etc) and when done correctly is a very loud and proud modification when bolted to something like a Cobra/Uniden big chassis radio.
It's not a cheap mod #$75-$100,but this modded Cobra I have cuts my Gen. Lee's lips straight off. I dont know what the old Bird 43 would read plugged to a dummy load but its has much more watts the my Gen Lee thats Bird tested thru a 100 watt load # just over 70 watts.

With the difference there has to be better then 20-30+ watts to step on the Gen Lee # two miles like it does.

My work radio is a 4300/4 w/DM-M400 and a Predator Comp.I have no issues getting out when I want too .

There is a new toy coming for the Connex line,I dont know enough about it to really comment but it will bolt to the lower chassis(think Galaxy) and push numbers upwards of 225.

???? So what do they do,remove the finals and install a pill like a 2879? Sure not going to see that much power from just a mosfet upgrade!

I've got a magnum s3 as well. I love the radio but I think I just passed up a good deal. A guy wanted to trade me even up this past weekend. His Galaxy dx99v + a Polomar 300 for my little bitty magnum. That galaxy sounded good & had some awesome range without the linear hooked to it... I just didn't feel like he would have been getting the better deal... So I refused all his attempts to trade me.

That wasnt very smooth
S3's are like $180 and easily found,99V are at least $275 on referb, that 300 is easily worth $100.

Something aint right "On both sides" of that deal
