CB base radio question

Hey guys,

I have the perfect setup for a base radio station at my house in my attic. The attic is big and even has windows with a view of the front yard of my house. All i basically need is to put a table, chair, radio, linear and some kind of fan for air.

The only other thing I need is the antenna. But, I need something that is going to work good but at the same time, be somewhat discreet. I know that sounds crazy because most antennas are huge, but does anybody have any idea?

Hmm, I would have to say look into an I-Max 2000.
You don't need a tower for it, you can use a push up pole to mount it on. And most of the time they are plug and play the SWR's are set when it is made. and they are under $ 100.00

You can get a wire antenna and mount it in the Attic,It's called a dipole. Look it up on goggle and you can also see what im talking about at this site. They are not hard to build and can be gotten on ebay new for under $50.00. Just make sure you get one for 27 or 28 MHz or it will not work.
Just dont expect to talk around the world on one mounted inside the house using a cb radio.

You can also go the the site called REMOVED LINK and look up some more info. These antennas work and some swear by them but i have never used one on the cb band.

You can also buy them at MFJ electronics as well. They do have a web site.

That is pretty cool. So basically, you can get it for around $30 and you can actually set it up inside the house? I wonder how many watts it can take.

There is a guy down the road that went to Lowes and bought several joints of galvinized pipe(flag pole stuff)

He then used his old truck mounts and Predator 10K antenna, went to the local shop and bought enough coax to fill the order.

He has added acouple of snub lines for high wind stabilty and is well over
80 Feet from ground level to the top of the stinger of that 10K

He has no problem rocking most of the "county" understanding Texas counties are larger then many States that pretty impressive for a hillbilly base rig.

I think you can buy it at different power handling capabilities.

Goggle home >made coax wire antennas<,there are all kinds of ways to make an antenna for very little cash. You can even take a long pc of coax and strip off one of the ends of it at a certen ( 102 inches...i think) length, hang it in a tree and use it! Dont forget the DXzone website as it has massives ammounts of info and ideas on how to build..home built antennas.
