| Lol.. The masked man was a simple cb shop repair man in new mexico.. Got a great deal on my galaxy too.. Wounderful birthday present the ole lady let me have.. Although I wounder about its potential.. I really heard a cobra 29 ltd could jump hoops if the work was done by the right person and the right cash was paid.. I'm starting to wounder tho.. People aren't telling me I sound strong.. When they guess what radio I'm running.. Its usually a radio shack special they guess.. I set my knobs like turbo said.. But I'm kinda second guessing my choice now. |

![]() The chances of you getting caught are far less that some hack recking a good radio ..... I DO NOT work on CB radios my work is done for the jail only but officers bring radios to me because they feel I will give them a honest answer ..... and I will .... 99% of the ones I see that have been tuned up are done ..... and need to go in the trash ..... You don't make a radio better by cutting out parts and cranking everything wide open ..... |

| Would the 949 be a worthy successor to an older Cobra 25LTD?....I found a decent price on one online and was wondering if i should bother....does a noise canceling mike that fits a Cobra 4 pin connector work on a Galaxy?....

| Not even, the 949/959 cant run with the 25 LTD In straight across performance. If Pilot,Loves or TA sells a radio? those are the ones to avoid if your looking to "upgrade".None of them will out talk a Cobra 29 or Uniden 68 so why pay the difference without getting different? Sparky might still have some of those $179 Connex ? For that price Im sure their Factory Refurbs but for the money and performance you cant hardly beat it.

I had 2 of the 959's and they were good radios |

| Sorry fella,if you walked the talk you talk about radios you would never ask such a stupid question. I didn't say they were bad radios,I said the Cobra would walk either of their mutts when it comes to performance. At this time I will also add durability. If neither are properly tuned then its apples to oranges. Any shop worth their salt will tune them to respectable limits, but if asked they'll side with the 25 when asked to choose. That type of shop will also tell you a China made 25 will talk just as good as a Philippines made 25,which is correct. Ok,now price. . . . . Paying the difference tween them for #### plastic knobs and alleged features which are virtually useless for basic everyday trucking type radios. Working mans money. . . . Buy a 959 from a TS have a shop hack tune it and it will cost more then a tuned up 33HP from Sparky's(not a plug for Sparky's just a common reference) If anyone paid over $225 for a Connex 33 or GL aligned/tuned out the door you needed ripped off IMO. Anyway . . . . . Why pay the price for 35 watts when you can have 70 watts for the same money? Coarse shipping will put you abit over but your net gain in performance, usability, durability still have you well ahead. Resale Take a 959 out of the store or shop and hang it in a truck, everything working spot on perfect. That 959 w/RK56 is worth $75 on a good day without a scratch on it.On a bad day it will not sell for $50 Apply the same to a 33Hp and your looking at $90 any day without a mic and $150+ on a good day with an RK/56.*Providing everything is in great condition and working as it should*(Loud yet clear) I can break this down even further but these highlights should suffice the working class folks like my self.
