Coax in kenworths

So, I think the coax in my company rocket (2005 W900) is pretty well rotted, and affecting performance.

I am wondering if changing the coax is as bad as it looks. I see it is routed through the cab, and into the top of the dash where the CB tray was mounted on the dash from the factory.

Am I correct to assume it runs into the cab, just above the door, behind that plastic, then down the windshield pillar, and behind the dash to the center, then up??

How much of a PIA is it to change the coax on kenworth cabs??

Look around at truck stops for the Wilson coax that has a removable end. This way you can just start on the outside and work the coax through the door and into the cab,then once you get it where you want just screw the end of the coax together,then to your radio and your good to go.

It will take a little time to do it but it's not to bad an ordeal.

I replace coax every two years without fail.

Most CB shops will pull a new single wire for about $50 on most trucks.

Cant beat soldiered ends when performance and reliability count.

I dont know. I run the same type of ( screw on end )Wilson coax in my truck and car, both are over 4 years old with no problems.
