Question about a antenna mount on my truck

First let me say hey, my name is Jake and im new to the forum. i have a 2002 f250 that im lookin at put a CB in, when i bought it i noticed a mount of some sort on the roof with a male threading sticking out. The mount is black with the letters "as" in white on it and i was wondering if this is a cb antenna mount or a different kind of radio mount? heres a picture of the mount.

Since your not sure what it is and since there is already a hole in the roof why not get one of the roof mounts made by Wilson and put it the same location as this one?

That is the mount for an Antenna Specalist VHF/UHF/800Mhz Antenna. I have one on my car for my scanner. No that mount will not work for any CB Antenna. A CB Antenna needs to have a loading coil and there is no way to put a loading coil on that type of mount. The black part of that antenna unscrews and under it will be an NMO Mount. You can use that mount with any NMO Type CB Antenna. Here is a link to a very good NMO CB Antenna. It will out preform any Wilson or K-40 on the market. the black plastic part will unscrew revealing a Motorola nmo mount a Larson model "nmo27b" antenna will screw on to that mount and will perform as well as a wilson 1000 . these antennas are commercial quality antennas , the larson should run you bout 30 bucks . the "AS" you mention stands for antenna specialists.
