    one more thing.

Sure you dont want a radio keying 6 or 7 watts while using an amp because the amp will get to hot and blow the pills in the amp.But this BS that you have to have a 1 or 2 watt key to use with an amp is nonsense!

I have a 5 pill Dave Made that i use with a radio that keys 4 to 5 watts ( 25 watts pep ), i have been using this setup for years and i have never blown a pill! Now i can turn the key down to 1 or 2 watts but the radio/amp sounds like total #### to anyone with in 5 miles of me. With the higher key i can sit right beside someone with the power on and sound clear as a bell!

    Don't buy the hype!

You are so dead on with this, When I ran an amp I always turned my radio back down to about 3 or 4 watts. I have made many arguements that a radio has to be cut to 1 or 2 watts complete bs!:yes2557:

Thanks Tater, you know what price is on par for a couple of antennas and getting it peaked/tuned? Like I said I'm not looking to have some extremely expensive setup, but I would like to hear and get out past 1-2 miles like I do currently.

Their number is in post #27
Just tell them what you want and they will do you right.
Generally if one buys an antenna from them the SWR check is part of the deal.

Dont know any out your way but the one I have been using and my father use to use back in the days when they issued license for CB radios I85 Exit 106 But there is not any truck parking and unless business is real slow (which I have never seen here) you will have to leave you radio he wont stop working on someone else to jump on yours but his work is well worth it and he keep up with what he do to your radio so he will know if you bring it in for service later

My vote goes to RollingRadios in Richmond, VA. He has done alot of custom work for me, since CB is my hobby and not just a tool for the road. He has tuned over 30 radios for me, all are performing flawlessly. He's an honest guy that does good work.

See i don't know if yall have the same problem as i do. i don't like sending my stuff off to someone to work on gives me a bad feeling that i'll never see it again and wont beable to do anything about it. That and half the people like sparky's you don't know how to contact and tell them what you want done to it.

Well pretty simple with Sparky just pick up your phone and call him. He has an actual building for a shop not a trailer that he could pick up and move anytime like alot of so-called cb shops these days. The reason you have to send stuff to him is because he does things the right way. Anybody that tells you they can "peak and tune" your radio in 5 minutes run the other way. Al is a great guy and his downfall is he won't try to over sell you something you don't need he will cut himself out of money by telling you the the best setup for your application even if it means he loses money on the sale. He gets my business and will as long as he is business. :yes2557:

this crew runs a real cb shop,i talked to the techs and the owner. if u want a good quality radio setup, use them,if u want to gamble with the shop closest to the truckstop, then go ahead.
