Yeah. I feel like my real problem is the fact that I'm trying to put great antennae on the end of a crappy wiring job by Volvo. I'm going to have to redo the job or just settle for my factory antennae until I have the time and money. That, and I'm just a knight fleet driver, so I'm not willing to modify their truck, seeing as how I never know how long I will have it.

    The factory coax is junk.
I could never get my SWR right using the factory coax and mount.

I ended using 9 foot of new coax,a new mount and grounding the mount. on my International.

Your antennas are probably fine but you have a coax or grounding issue.

    Smaggs Thanks this.

I agree. And it doesn't matter what antenna you use, some may do a little better than others, you still won't have an ideal set up until you have a good rf ground.

Yeah, if I knew I'd have this truck a long time, I'd run new coax and properly ground.
