I run em so I can be heard and the radios I use are trucker tuff which many radios are not and can't take the pounding a truckers CB gets.

I run a grant LT as a base it is as good as most radios get. Most exports are just CBs with illegal power and channels added . A good CB with a small amp if done right is hard to beat.

I have owned Rangers 2950, 2950dx and 5054dx They did not last long here quickly replaced with REAL radios since I run FM even the little Alinco DR-03 was light years better.

I run a 7 foot HAMSTICK on 29.600 and have a 98 inch wip as a backup. On 29.600 when the band is open I have worked Germany from the car. During the contest It was easy to work moble stations a far north as you running only 80 watts and a 12avq.

Just look in the cb shops for a used radio.normally find great deals that way. I have seen 29s all ready peaked and tuned for $75 in cb shops all the time. Even though I have the cb I all ways wanted (uniden Grant xl) I still like to look.
