I've not ran it but I have mixed feelings on it.

For what you would pay to have a radio *properly* set up with it, you could almost go buy a 200 watt linear for less....and still come out ahead.

But for someone who wants an "all-in-one" high power radio, it can be a good thing. Be advised it will get hot if you're long winded.

I know some CB repairmen that stand by the mod and others that tell you to avert it completely.

Good mod for a cobra 25 and 29. Setup right 100+ watts on those radios. They have issues on a lot of other radios from what I hear. You can have the mod done for under $100 an amp to put out similar power will cost more.

I disagree, for the money and depending on the shop that does the install
A RFX75 modded Cobra will out perform a similar radio and a 2 pill box.

I too was once skeptical and to date have no regrets with my purchase.
I recently acquired another unit (Cobra29) that was modded by Sparky's
it "does not" perform as "good as" the unit from "customcbradios"

The "Stealth"unit is a much better talker, mind you I run good a quality antenna with everything flat on all 40 which is a solid baseline to compare both units on.

Will I purchase another ? NO these two should last a good while.
If the "need" were there,YES and I will continue to recommend such for those that want great performance in a single package.

These radios will "LIGHT-UP" some big wattage Amps so the upgradeabilty is there if needed.

Very true BUT, do these other CB shops know how to do it correctly without the radio going south in a short time?

I would much rather buy a stealth with the rfx installed from Doug at custom CB radios and know that it was done correctly and that it will last a good long time.

    Or Sparkys.

Yes any CB shop can do the install, but how many of them can make it last?

Give Sparky a call he'll be up front and tell you which radios can work right with it and which ones can't.

I take it that CustomCBRadios is a good place to get a 10m?
