    Good about Celadon:

Keep your ETA and PTA (Projected Time of Availability) updated and you will be preplanned on your next load usually before you even get to the final.

Don't ##### about the miles on a given load, do them, next load will usually make up for a short one.

Very good health insurance. Have a clinic at the Indy Terminal if there or going by and don't feel good or whatever and want to get checked out you can for FREE.

Average age of a Celadon truck is 2.5 years. They have a 285,000 mile trade in policy.

Have a mechanical problem they get it taken care of. They don't want you driving an unsafe truck any more than you want to drive it. Don't like paying for motel rooms if it will be a couple days and you are on the road. Just need to stand your ground. lol

Honestly I have nothing bad to say about Celadon except their terminals need some work. (Richmond and Laredo especially) And right now they are very over crowded. And a couple of their policies discriminate against certain groups of people.

They do not have very good health insurance, more like below average. $30 for single which pays 70% is not very good. Especially since I came from a company where it was free for me, and paid 90%.

Average age of the truck is 1.6 years with a 375,000 trade in policy.

Celadon is ok. I was there from May 2011 until Jan 19 2012. I quit because after coming off hometime on Jan 3 I sat in Miami for 4 days and paid for their truck to park with no reimbursement. Then the following Friday I sat in Laredo until late Monday evening and was due home on Tues. DIdnt get home until Thur at 1 am. Also they were making me pay for insurance on a kid I pay child support on but the state told me I didnt have have to pay insurance but they kept telling me they were gonna keep taking over a 100.00 a week from my check until they got paperwork from the court. LOL my case worker for child support had been trying to get in touch with them but they would not return her calls and she kept saying they are not suppose to do that... SO i just made it up to just quit.. why just give my time and money away to a company making billions off us hard working drivers.. If I would have stayed I would have had to been a lease operator and Im not ready to do that lease #### again.Swift taught me better than that...lol

Finished my 1900 mile load today. Had time to get in a 34 reset on Sunday-Monday. Two hours after delivery and I was off and running again.:biggrin_25522:

Lol, I'm reading it, too. I don't have much to say about Celadon, but I guess I can make a post. They did follow through with their promise to pay us at our a Glen Moore pay rate. Miles were horrible to start, and everything was a disorganized mess, but that's true at any company over the holidays and in early January. By the last week of January, my miles picked up and I've been running quite well up to now.

I still do not have an assigned DM. We were told our Glen Moore DMs would be trained in Celdaon's policies and we would get them back. That's been 2 months ago. Hasn't happened. So I end up as an extra on someone's board each day. I notice a lot of sarcasm and smart-aleck comments from their end. I would really like to have my Glen Moore DM back. At this point, though, I'm not sure it will happen.

All in all I'm here more because of a lack of desire to change companies again than any real liking for the company. I would have never come here had the buy-out not occurred. I guess they may be OK for a relative newb with limited experience, but their pay rate is ridiculous for an experienced driver. Had they ever tried to take my rate of 43 cpm away from me, I'd have been gone in an eye blink. Do they really think they will get good drivers at 33cpm?

I read the threads here too but lately it's just been people complaining and frankly, I'm tired of reading about it. Most of the Celadon drivers online hate the company. Most of the Celadon drivers I talk to in person love the company and have been here for several years. I've been here over a year and they've treated me with more respect than the last two companies I've worked for.

I've met some great office people, including my recruiter who got me here. I always stop in to see my DM whenever I'm in town. I like my DM and the other DMs nearby who cover the phone if she's on break or at lunch. I've even met a few night time DMs who cover the board when the day people go home.

What worries me are some of these fleet messages that get sent over the QC. "Attention all drivers: remember you must do a pre-trip and post-trip daily." Seriously? We're all hired on with at least one year experience so this should be automatic, not a new concept to people. Same thing with the reminder that you cannot use line 5 off-duty driving for work-related business. Seriously? That was made perfectly clear in the ELogs class.
