I've been with them since oct. Of last year. And so far I get about 2200 to 2600 miles a week. Isit very little waiting on loads. Your avarage run will 700 miles or better all the time. You do get some small runs but make up for it by giving you a 900 to 1100 mile run. I've been out west only twice so far I just back from cali. Dispatched is real good I've only called him 3 times so far. You will get some canada runs not to much to that just more paperwork and finding the right border crossing. But you will want a gps up there it will be an awesome help. The terminals all pretty much suck but if your like me I could really care less about that. Bottom line is miles are good people are good truck is nice too....hope this helps

Hey now, the Indy terminal is much better than, say, Greensboro.
I'll agree with what tsmith80 has already posted. There have been a few hiccups along the way as a result of delays at a shipper or receiver but for the most part my dispatcher keeps me moving. I usually end up needing a 34-hour restart at the end of the week from being on line 3 so much. Some weeks I have to tell them I need a 34, other times it works out on a Saturday pickup, Monday delivery load.

If you are able to go to Canada, they will require you to get a passport card. They have a guy come in one day during orientation to do the paperwork and take your picture. Then in a few weeks it gets mailed to Celadon and you're routed in to pick it up.

...and the cafeteria food is alright. The Chinese place that delivers is pretty good. I look forward to it whenever I'm in Indy. I'll be waiting in the safety lane singing "I'm getting Chinese tonight..I'm getting Chinese tonight."

I am just letting everybody know what is currently happening at celadon. It is in august 2011. I have been here four months and am going home in 1 week due to to fact miles have slowly gotten shorter every week. I have been going to Canada on a regular basis,so be prepared for that. I was without a/c for a week, company basically would not pay for a hotel and told me in not so many words, i would have to get to a terminal to get it fixed. I also just found out today that another 54 people are coming in to orientation. Do you want to join that? Celadon gives a good talk, but in the end , I don't know. They will try to help as much as they can, but it is not always to your advantage. As far as geting the miles, the dispatchers really have nothing to do with it. The planners look at where you are located and will put something on you that fits you. If you decide to work at Celadon, don't complain to your dispatchers. It will only make things worse. Also do not work here if you are expecting to make a lot of money. I have no problem telling people I have been in the business for a little over 9 years and am only making .295/mile. GO FIGURE. Make up your own mind, but be cuatious. If you have a good driving record and a good DAC record and at least 1 year of otr then you can find a driving job with almost anybody making more money than here.

I've been with them for a little over 2 months now and have to agree for the most part. My air-conditioner also went down, but I was able to get to the Indy terminal that day and they had it fixed that night. I went to a hotel anyway, never put in for it as I paid for it myself. I do know that the more you speak up, the more you may be asking for additional problems, that's just the way these bigger companies try to shut you up.#

For example: When I was at the Indy terminal I went into the shop and asked them for some "e-log" stickers for the outside of the truck. I was under a load at the time so only had about an hour to spare, but then again, I certainly didn't think it would take that long to put a couple of stickers on the truck. For whatever reason, the shop has to be the ones that physically install the stickers. I went in and asked for the stickers and the woman behind the counter gave me a bit of an attitude and said, "sure, I'll get right on that!". I went out to the truck which was parked right outside the maintenance shop to finish up some paper work. About 20 minutes went by so I went inside to check on the stickers. I explained to this woman that I was under a load and that I didn't have a lot of time. Again she gave the 'eye roll', so I waited (patiently) for an additional 20 minutes.#

After no results, I placed a complaint with my driver manager via QualCOMM and then left (without my stickers). About 45 minutes up the road I get a message telling me that I needed to turn around, drop my load at the yard and head to a Cummins shop because they were concerned about an oil sample that was pulled a few days previously. After spending the day at the Cummins shop, I was told (by Cummins) that I didn't need to be pulled off a load nor did I need to come into the Cummins shop. All Celadon had to do was fax over their findings and Cummins could have told them that there was nothing to be alarmed about... the previous oil samples were all reading normal. I later found out that it was the same woman behind the counter that I filed a complaint against who ordered me off that load and sent me to Cummins. Coincidence... I think not, but I have learned that Celadon will play games with a driver just like any other company. It doesn't matter if dispatch, load planners or driver managers are in the wrong. If you disclaim any of their practices if and when you're being wronged, then you can expect management to react with childish behavior, and their behavior towards you doesn't simply go away.

After attending the ELogs class, I was told my truck would be stickered by the time I got back to it. After walking to my truck and not seeing the stickers, I went to the shop to let them know. They had to call over to verify I finished the class and was set up for ELogs and then one of the mechanics who the guys lovingly called "Sticker Boy" came over and put the ELog stickers on.

p.s. don't joke with the guy in the Parts department, he gets really mad that you're wasting his time and taking him away from his solitaire game!

Yeah, I had to have the logs department email the shop letting them know that they were supposed to put the stickers on. At first the logs department didn't realize that was part of the proceedure. As far as the shop in general, I have been pretty impressed with how they get things done dispite everything I have heard about them. Any issues (with the exception of the e-log stickers), they had resolved the same day. Most everyone I have spoken with has been very professional until I had to get those stickers. I was a bit caught off guard with her attitude towards having to accomplish such a daunting task that involved less than basic coordination skills.

When I first got my truck they also were supposed to have the stickers in place. However, because I picked the truck up in Greensboro the shop there told me that the company wasn't on e-logs yet, which apparently wasn't the case. They seemed shocked when they saw that there was e-logs setup on the truck. I ended up having to drive around for over a month with no stickers on the truck.

Really guys...?pissing and moaning about "stickers",first off how many scales do you actually enter with a pre-pass,for me its about 1 out of 20 and if at some point the moon and stars align the DOT will ask to see your log's,sorry officer im on e-logs..would you like them faxed to you?,99.9% of the time they will just let you roll, pick your battles..stickers arent one of them.

Seriously, that's all you got of the last 3 posts was stickers? It's amazing that our species ever made it the top of the food chain while others are still trying to figure out how to peel a banana. OK Gilligan, now go fetch me a bucket of steam.
