I don't know about how their lease purchase program is, but I know how it is like working for Celadon as a company driver. I worked for Celadon for about 8 weeks and they are a bad company to work for. I have over 6 years experience as a truck driver. When I arrived at orientation, I was told I would be paid $16/hr as a local driver and I would have my weekends off. I was never paid $16/ hr, I was paid $15/hr and I had to work weekends. I also had a problem with Celadon not paying for the correct number of hours I worked. I didn't receive my final paycheck or back pay from Celadon when I quick working for them, even though I gave them a 2 week notice that I was quitting , turned in their truck and other additional items they asked for back. I am currently filing a complaint against them with the California Dept. Of labor. I was not the only driver that was paid incorrectly or not paid their final paycheck. My advice to any drivers that are offered employment with Celadon is to turn down their job offer. This companies does not pay their driver correct and they lie to them about what their job will pay and the pay rate. I currently work at a different company that pays very well and I go home every night.

I'm on a team truck, but I think you can get an Ez-pass as a solo.. but you'll have to pay a fairly large deposit (about $100) and you must use their "recommended" fuel routings that will send you many miles out of the way in order to avoid toll cost. If you don't have the tolls pre-authorized and use the toll road, they WILL deduct the toll cost from your pay. I know this for a fact.. they let me go on an emergency home-time visit to my sister in Rochester, NY. (She was dying and has since passed away) and sent me a message saying "tolls are not authorized for home-time travel." So, I was billed for all the tolls from Fort Wayne, IN. to Rochester. which included all of the Ohio Turnpike and the N.Y. State Thruway from the Pa state line to Rochester. On the positive side, they let me deadhead from Ft. Wayne because a load to get me home wasn't ready and the shipper was closed.. So it was worth what I had to pay out of pocket for the tolls.

I did there lease purtchase and you can't be more wrong about the fuel. It various from truck to truck on how much fuel is in the tanks. But they give you a voucher for fuel. They pump it for you at the celadon site in Indy and I left with just under a full tank of fuel it was closer to 3/4 full but still it's free fuel. I do agree with you 100% on you only see pro junk star trucks and they do give you a paper with trucks to pick from and it's 99% pro star pos. I got a 2013 with low miles can't remember the actual amount but it was very low I think it was around 220 thousand or a little less. I went through the truck with a fine tooth comb and fond several things wrong but they did fix anything I found and I say found. Reason I say that is because the pos I had within the 8 months I was doing the program I ended up paying rite around $9000.00 out of pocket for repairs and it seemed I was in the shop every other week paying for a repair. Then the 9th month and finall month I owned the truck I left from my home time on a Monday had to replace a steer tire $499 and I kid you not the following day the bellows tubes blew out and also the oil air separator I think that was what they called it needed to be replaced, the blown out bellows tubes made it loud as hell and exhaust fumes were coming in the cab. To fix it was going to be another $4500 bill and I just couldn't come up with the money being I was putting all the money into the truck for repairs all along I had no money set aside for repairs. I called up quality truck told them I wanted to keep the truck and continue the lease program (being I already replaced 3/4 of the truck) but couldn't come up with the money can they help me out as in pay the repairs and I'll reimburse them or get the truck to a quality shop and fix it and they said no. So I had to use the walk away option of the lease and give it back to them. They said well after 3 months I could get another truck from them on the lease program lol I said what so I can fix that truck for you to and turn that one in after replacing everything on it for them to turn around and re-lease it to someone else. I was pissed to because I had installed an awesome sound system from Best Buy in it and a tv and mount and other stuff and it broke down in Memphis Tennessee I'm from Michigan so ended up walking away from a lot of nice stuff I had to leave in the truck because I couldn't carry it with me on the bus ride back to Michigan. So if you get a truck with a DVD stereo with a beautiful sub under the bunk and a sweet inverter oh and a tv hooked to a tv mount, that was my truck so most of it is new. Good luck.

Leaving expensive items in a truck that you're giving back falls under the category of "your fault'.

Does the Celadon Rover App make a difference in allowing Owner Ops to pick their own loads? ??

Or Driver Managers trying to prevent it's success because it limits their usefulness in having a say and possibly their jobs?
