I am thinking about becoming a driver but I have a concern. Based on the type of work required how do the drivers stay in shape?
I ask because I like to be healthy and it seems that might be tough being on the road.
Are there any recommendations for working out and eating healthy on the road?

You should definitely consider looking into Anytime Fitness. They are located all throughout the country and you have an electronic key that unlocks the door for you. Most Anytime Fitnesses are kind of small, but they have everything that you need like a shower, treadmills, weights, etc. Some of them seem better than others but nice overall.
Nightwind8830 Thanks this. -
Once you get the experience you need, then you can get a truck equipped with a refrigerator and Microwave and eat your own food, If you try you can stay healthy out on the road but it is a little expensive eating out of truck stops everyday, But if you take your own food with you, then you can eat what you want but keeping it till you eat it will be the problem. My signature applies to you. Thanks. Good Luck!

Little things you can do like always park in the back instead of up front close to the building. Forces you to walk more. After eating at a truck stop walk around the parking lot a couple times b4 going directly back to your truck. And whatever you do, don't eat a large meal right b4 you go to bed like I did. Stay away from energy drinks. I became a type 2 diabetic because of my unhealthy lifestyle. Getting a frig, cooler, or microwave in your truck like luvtotruck mentioned is a good idea. I've seen some guys bring a bike with them. Of course smoking some of my cigars probably didn't help, but it sure was a great way to relieve stress.

Thank you for all the advice. Do any of your companies offer a fitness or nutritional program while on the road? Like recommended food items or some kind of travel workout equipment? I am not sure what would work that you could keep in the truck, but someone has had to think of something.

Sometimes I would unload my own trailer instead of hiring a lumper. Not only was it good exercise, but it saved me $$ in lumper fees. Hope this helps.
