Let's see. Orientation is three days long. I think you get paid $150 for orientation. That's what hubby got at any rate. Hiring time depends on alot of factors. How quickly you get your paperwork in to them. There is a release for that you have to sign for release of info for previous employment and I believe drug screen results or maybe background check. I don't remember what it was other than employment verification. It will also depend on how quickly your previous employers get back to them with employment verification. They by law have up to 30 days from receipt of request to do it. Most will get it done within a few days, but some can be a pain. The have to get your USIS report back as well. Then make the arrangements to get you into orientation. Now when my husband applied, it took three days from the time he put in the app to the time he was hired. If you did an online app, you'll also need to fill out one on paper and send it back. We had his faxed to us, filled it out,and faxed it back the same day. And the verification form we did the same way. His employment verification took one day. Becky faxed the verification to his previous employer of nine years, then called her and got it on the phone as well as a glowing recommendation from them. It all depends on your situation, your previous employers, how good your recruiter is, and your background check. I think the average is about a week turnaround from start of app to hire.

Be carefull on how much info you give out about your husband .

Just a warning in advance which all drivers/family member should understand the more info "truck #, load information, product, name of company" can all lead up to a dangerous situation. Ok I will stop being over protective .

So I have 2 wifes here, huh! Dont let hubby tell you I am mean, cause I really am not

Logs,

Nope not Bloomington. We live in a little podunk town where they roll up the sidewalks at sunset. I'm going to PM you in a few, and I'll let you know his driver number and the town then. He's going to try to stop in and meet you again when he gets back through Indy. Oh, and he KNOWS it's serious about logging legal. He's never questioned that. He doesn't log illegal and doesn't like to log illegal because it catches up to you real quick with satellite tracking, fuel receipts, scale receipts, etc. So far he's not really needed split breaking I don't think.

Honor Roll,

Hubby's DM is Kathy. Great gal. She seems to be able to pull good loads for him regularly. I like that she takes the time every day to say hi to her drivers. Makes her a person to them instead of just a voice in the machine (or QC as the case may be). Oh, and I love that QC voice (beepbeepbeep) "A new message has arrived!" I hear it sometimes when I'm talking to him on the cell and a message comes through the QC. It reminds me of one of those spaceship movies, where the ship is programmed with a sentient sounding voice.

Oh then it's not your hubby! Sorry Like I said it's been 1-2 weeks.

What drivers need to understand about qualcom messages is:

There will be a fleet message (all of you have gotten them and griped about them, right) and you say could you not send this when I am on my break. Well the problem with this is, we may have another driver that breaks # night! So when can we send that important information out to you or to try and be friendly. Like saying everyone have a Merry Christmas (example only).
It's tough being on the inside trying to do the right "nice" thing and being told you are bothering them, that's when we get frustrated and say fine I won't be extra nice etc.

So yeah Kathy is trying to be nice and check in with her drivers to let them know she is there and ready to rock and roll .

So look at it that way, she is doing her check in call
