I love the iPhone mostly due to its touch screen.

Yeah, my droid can be annoying but I like it anyway. Still going to try to trade my devour up for an incredible. Mine gets worse reception than a cheaper model for some stupid reason.

Off topic!
But I LOVE the snails on the Swift truck!!!
That is funny. -
Only problem I have w/touch screens is occasionally hitting wrong symbol due to truck shaking. Other than that no problems.

I love the touch screen on my electronic log!

Love the touchscreen on my droid, but I do use the keyboard to type.

Freebird, you're not the only one but it looks like we're in the minority. I hate 'em too, with a passion.
I want a phone like the old Nextel had before the Sprint merge....those yellow military-spec, waterproof, virtually indestructable phones. In 2003 I had a friend who ran over his mil-spec Nextel with a loaded car carrier in a parking lot. That phone had taken many beatings- mud puddles, being dropped from the top deck of the car carrier, even went thru the washing machine once. It needed a crushing by an 80,000 lb truck on asphalt to kill it!! And even then- it died with dignity. The phone made a big dent in the asphalt, and survived intact with only a cracked screen. Had power but wouldn't make calls. I was there to witness the entire event. Made me want a Nextel, if not for their total lack of service above western I-80 & 90 back then.
That's what a phone SHOULD BE if you ask me. Tough & reliable. Not a $300 piece of quarter-inch thick shiny, easily-scuffed brittle plastic with a screen that'll scratch if you breathe too hard and will crack if you sneer at it funny.
I have a "slide" phone that's half touch screen, half regular number buttons. You need the touch screen to access the phone book & text messages. I've replaced this phone THREE TIMES under warranty due to the touch-screen part going bad. If not for the good old fashioned dial buttons I'd have been totally without a phone (no landline). Thankfully I could still dial/recieve calls. It's convinced me I NEVER want a full touch screen phone.
I'm due for an upgrade later this month and I'm definitely going for one of the 'rugged' models VZ is finally offering again. They had them all discontinued for a while, so I'm going to grab one while I can!
I do think some of the features & apps for the iPhones, Droids, etc....are kinda neat, but the appeal doesn't go much further than that. Seems more like a fun novelty than a phone I guess. Pretty much everything I'd WANT to do with one of those phones, I can do just as well on my laptop....without having to use the world's smallest QWERTY keypad or go finger-tapping on a screen. I suppose I AM missing out on the ability to post mobile Facebook status updates. I DO actually like Facebook quite a bit. Yet, somehow I think my friends would thank me for NOT buying the phone & posting a new status every 30 minutes.
Just my opinion, glad these phones work for so many of you guys...just not my thing!Freebird135 Thanks this.
