I switched to Verizon from T-Mobile back in December, and there are only a few places that I've seen signal drop reliably(i68 through Maryland west of the i70 and tunnels). While their plans ARE expensive(I pay an arm and a leg each month), it's nice to know, that no matter where I park for the night, I'll get a signal. I stream internet radio as I drive, so I notice every time the data network drops.
For reference, I'm currently using a Galaxy Nexus(with 4g LTE disabled), and a Samsung SCH-LC11 mobile hotspot. I highly recommend against the SCH-LC11, since it crashes enough where I'm replacing it this weekend with a Novatel 4620L.

What do you think of internet radio vs Sirius/XM? Was thinking about streaming Pandora or something similar instead of spending the money on a separate unit + subscription to the satellite co. How much data does it burn?
Sorry for the off topic question, just did not want to start a new thread for this.

I posted this same question on another similar thread:
Does anyone use Cricket?
They have a plan for $55 mo that is supposed to cover all 48 states, and I can use my phone as a modem for another $10.
Sounds too good to be true.
Verizon's seems a bit pricey, but maybe it's worth it?

Verizon want's $30 mo for modem use.
I can't see paying that.
I know nothing about smart phones, so I am really in a scramble here to pick the right one.
I am supposed to leave for company orientation in a couple days.
Cricket's prices are good, but I don't know about the coverage issues.
ATT has lied to me so many times, I will never do business with them for any reason.

Sprint wants 30 a month for modem feature also.
un uh. I was in the same boat as you, had to figure out what to use for innernet on the road. ended up with an iphone which has taken alot of figuring out for me. Every company has advantages and disadvantages. I've had Sprint for 10 years. Coverage is fine in my opinion.
