My phone has been running slow lately and I was wondering if it's because of viruses like a computer? If so how do you fix the problem?

Theres an app you can install called SD maid. Its suppose to clean up all the dead files an reduce used space on your phone and make it run better. I tried it, freed up some space. I cant really tell if it runs faster. I dont have much patients with the electronics stuff. Mine is a Galaxy S4. Been having to charge it twice a day now. Think the battery is on its way out.

    Pretty much next to impossible.
I've surfed about thirty thousand hours of disgusting and degrading porn sites; only virus I ever caught was a cold.

I tried taking the battery out for a few seconds but never 5 minutes. The phone is a Blackberry Bold 9930 on the Verizon network. Speaking of which the Verizon Navigator (the GPS) app is what is running the slowest. It literally takes it like 4 or 5 monutes to put together a route and the hour glass symbol keeps showing on the screen.

    Yes, they can.

    1) As other's have suggested, reboot the phone first. See if that helps.
    2) Review the most recent apps that you've installed. Remove them one by one and check the results.
    3) If it's Android, with a newer version of the system, go to Settings, Battery. See if there is an app sucking up a lot of juice that shouldn't be. (Normally you should see Scree, Calls, WiFi, Android at the top of the list)
    4) If all else fails back up your stuff and do a factory reset.

About your battery had the same problem, the bettery would only last an hour. Being my phone is at 2 years old I knew it was time to replace the battery. I bought a new OEM Blackberry battery off ebay for $6 and now the battery last like new.
