I have a Samsung WEP410, which is reallly compact, but apparently the sound is awful when the Detroit is doing its thing in the background. No one has complained when I am driving my car. So apparently it doesnt have good noise separation (or cancelling?). Am contemplating getting a different one, so thanks for the good advice on here.

This is a bit off topic, but you can get an infra red headset that he can plug into the TV etc. He can adjust the volume of his headset, and you can adjust the volume of the TV. Has worked for almost a decade with my parents, and boy is it a peaceful place to visit now, without the TV blaring louder than a ZZTop concert!

Some thing like that.

Google them and you'll be able to buy it for about $85 or less from any one of the Google shopping places. $99.99 at truck stops.

Most of the bluetooths out there have very short mics so they must catch all the sound. Not good when driving a truck. Thats why the longer boom mic works so well for truck drivers.

Another plus is I can load and unload while on the phone and not have a cord in the way like I used to. Blue tooth rocks.

That's the phone that I have and I think the battery life is amazing. Mine will go way longer than a day with moderate use.

Beware, if it was bought in "Bulk Packaging" it is probably a counterfeit. I found out the hard way with a Jabra JX-10 I bought for only $49 when they first came out.

I bought my blueparrot 2 weeks ago and love it people say they can hear me better than they could when i was using just the phone. I like it better too Brickman was right when he said its really loud.
I bought mine at TA, right now they have a $30 mail in rebate for them. I think you can also get it at FlyingJ.

definately worth the money.

This was one of the best inventions for drivers out there. Couple this with the voice recognition capabilities of the phones, and your pretty much eyes on the road, no distractions making calls and receiving them.

The only question I have is, does the blue tooth eliminate the radiation risk that you get just using the phone. I have to look that up.
There is no "radiation risk" from using cell phones. That is a wife's tale, much like the belief that electricity would jump out of the electrical outlets and shock you if you walked by.

Oh, and I use a Blue Parrot. Got it online for about $75 from the maker.
Excellent noise cancelling and I can hear it.
