Read about ALL lease programs from other companies as well. Get a copy of the lease contract from Central if you can and have a lawyer read it.

If you're new to trucking my suggestion would be that you drive a for year and talk to other lease/operators (L/O) from different companies. Talk to Owner/Operators (O/O) as well. Listen to their advice.

Pay attention to the numbers. Remember you're responsbile for everything, gas, routine maintenance, tires, tows, etc. It may look good on paper but in reality it's a different story.

You've got to have a head for business to be a L/O. In my humble opinion these lease programs benefit the company and not the driver. Sure you can find L/O who do quite well, but I think they are the exception and not the rule.

Good luck!!!!

thanks for your info. I spoke to a lease guy last night at the local truck stop and sat an bs with him for a while, is all he had to say was positve things about the program. so in a whole is central a good company? If you lease is it better to get a brand new truck or a used one?
