I live in the Salt Lake City area and I'm seriously considering applying at Central. Any and all comments, pro and con, are greatly appreciated

Wish I never quit

They are BY FAR the best company I have ever worked for. I wish I never quit, but, I thought I wanted to stay home every night. ONE thing, be sure To be based out of the IRVING, TX terminal. I worked in that office for a while, and they will take care of you MUCH better than any of the People in Salt Lake. Most of those people are still my good friends. I went on the road for them on one of their dedicated accounts and once again I have no com plaints (other than all Dedicated dispatch comes out of SLC, but I had no problems with my dispatchers.)

I hope they're not too bad in Salt Lake. I live in the area and moving isn't an option at this time. I might could transfer in the future but not now.

I remember talking to the new student coordinator at the trucking school I went to that talked about getting a visit from a Dick Simon recruiter. He sat down and wouldn't take his sunglasses off and was very crass. She sent him on his way.

Skunkman was pretty bad during their last days. Jerry Moyes seems to have done a good job pulling Central Reefer out from under Dickie's dung heap.

You don't have to move, just request one of the Irving dispatchers, If their boards aren't full they'll work it out.

By the way when Jerry took it over He did some major house cleaning. Half of the SLC offices are empty now, he only kept the good ones. Thats the way they want to stay.

That won't tell you anything either, as the students and recruits are put up behind the main bldg in dorms, they don't use the main entrance, they come in the back door on the South side of the bldg. (unless they live in the area.)

From my research it appears that Central has a really good rep (plus they're close to my home base) and so I faxed my application to them last Monday. But it's been a week now and I can't get my recruiter to call me back - I call once or twice a day and only get his mail box. Anyone know if this is par for the course or just a sub-par recruiter? Or maybe it's me, but then wouldn't they just come out and tell you they don't want you? I'm trying not to be impatient but I currently work as a home remodeler and I've got bids stacking up on my desk and I need to know whether or not I'm going to be changing professions, ya know D
