I am curious how new drivers just out of training what your first run was like, where you went, and how were the miles starting out?
What was your first run like with central?

As to miles, they slowly increased as we proved ourselves... We did finally need to go to another fleet/DM though to get more miles... And then on to another (a different story there) where we are now...
PS... Where the run went... CRSWVC to McCain in ID, then a drop/hook at a drop yard in Burley, ID to Hershey's in Ogden, UT and back to the yard... -

Lady K Thanks this. -
My first run was from Rochelle il to cedar springs ia. It was a NIGHTMARE. hooked to my loaded trl. Landing gear wouldn't crank. Someone in the shop at crsro called me and told me a trick. Got that fixed. Got on the road. You know how in the cascadias the key is right above your left knee. Yeahhhhh. I bumped it and the whole truck shut down. Panic mode. Got it started back up while coasting down 88. Get to my exit for us30. It's one of those exits that has an exit for east and one for west. Yeah. I took the wrong exit. I had to go 15 miles out of my way to turn around. Then drive 15 miles back to the shipper. All while my dm was calling me asking if I was there yet because this load was a hurry load.
So that was my first experience. It's ok though. It all improved after that. Except for those occasional bad days. -
My first load was from West Valley City, UT to Denver, CO. Delivered to a Shamrock Foods distro-center. Got to see my buddy in Denver and all around it was a great time.... till I locked my keys in my truck, which conveniently put behind on my next load. Here is the whole story... http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...frigerated-truck-stop-ii-362.html#post3254078
Miles with Central were between 2000-2800 per week, consistently, with a few 3000-3300 weeks scattered throughout my time with them. They are a good starter company. Some stick around longer than others. I lasted seven months before jumping off the road and into a local gig.

After I upgraded at WVC, my 1st load was DH'ing to Twin Falls, ID...P/U Chobani (Yogurt) load from there to San Bernadino, CA. Appt time was around 1800, didn't get loaded until 0700 the next morning. So right out of the gate had 8 hrs of detention. From there rest of the run went smooth.
