I went to your school last year, i contemplated on not posting this, but maybe you guys should know how many, many students feel. So this goes out to all the staff involve with the school. You people need to find better trainers. There were around 10 people who graduated with my group, only 2 came back for their upgrade. I was one of the 8 people who left during training, and i'll tell you why. My trainer was an #######. I have a very high tolerance for rude and disrespectful people, but even I, cannot stand all the bullsh!t. I was almost done with training, i only had a few more days left, but i just couldn't bare my trainer any more. I've learned that if people treat you like crap, then you treat them like crap right back. No offence to the company, the time I've spent with Central, i felt it was a good company, but there are a lot of trainers out there who gives Central a bad name.

Don't get me wrong, truck driving was not something i went out to do on a whim, i had planned to work with Central for a year. But, after my experience during training, i cannot see my future with Central. The 2 people from my group who did came back for their upgrade, told me, they were fortunate to have respectful trainers. Trust me, when a student jumps off during training, it is 99% the trainers' fault no matter what the students say. The school could use new instructors as well, i can think of 2 instructors who blows off the top of their heads during driving/backing sessions. So there you there.

Add this one to the pile.
Central was never on my list of companies that held any appeal.

Just another numbers game to them.

Sorry to hear of your experience.

    Sorry you feel this way.

If you were so close, why not grin and bear it? You were in the truck with the trainer for how long? a few more days could have been manageable.....what exactly was he/she doing that made you take your toys and go home?

IF your trainer was that bad, why not call in and see about getting a new one?

Just trying to understand some more of the details, that is all

The OP of this has probably said there peice and will never answer anyone , but yea he or she is right some trainers I have herd are terrible , but they tell you before you leave with them . If you have problems and can't work them out we will resolve them or seat you on another truck, and I have talked to people that have had it happen. They waited a few days but hell if I can't stand someone the few days would be worth the wait .

Yo I'm with you on that. I went with central to get my cdl a license. My trainer was a complete ####### and he slept most of the time. My trainer would never wake up whenever I needed help so I was left clueless sometimes. There were moments I would be lost in a city I never been to and my trainer wouldn't wake up no matter how loud I was....I can't just get up off my seat and wake up the trainer when I'm driving. Trainer didn't put much effort into me learning how to back up so I ultimately failed my upgrade test when I finished my 200 hours. I guess my trainer made his $$$ off me already so he couldn't care less. Most of the trainers don't care about you but they're getting your miles so they make money off you. There are some companies that don't allow the trainer to drive during the first week so he can actually teach instead of running like a team. I'm not bashing on central but a lot of companies have terrible trainers.

I was placed with a trainer who would fall asleep at the wheel while driving. I was woke up to the sounds of horns twice! I contacted training dept and requested new trainer and was told it will take a couple of days to re-seat me so be patient. I completed the run I was on, submitted my resignation and exited the truck. 2 Weeks later I get a call from Mike stating they found me a new trainer?! That afternoon I get a call from my "new trainer" saying he's ready. I informed him that I quit 2 weeks prior and have no idea why he's calling me! He then proceeds to get upset with me for wasting his time! Really?! Now today, 5 weeks after quitting, I receive a collection letter for my training. Not a bill, straight to collections! Are you kidding me?!

Yes in the beginning of orientation you signed a contract stating that if you get leave or get fired you have to pay back the $3000 tuition. I was aware of this and I just recently payed off my tuition. The name of the bill collector is called partner financial services I believe. The thing that upset me the most is my trainer was always distracted from teaching me.

    Let me guess , u didn't read the contract u signed ?
It says in there , they do not bill u but consider it a default so it goes to collection's. ..
    Ya should have waited ..

I guess it was selfish of me to be concerned about my personal safety, next time I'll wait..
As for the bill, what the heck, it's only money, right?
It's actually too bad because I enjoy the job and was really looking forward to a long career with them.

Central don't care about how long you stay or how good of an employee you are to them. The only reason they're still alive is because of their free schooling program that brings in drivers every week. They also get big tax deductions every time they train and hire one of us. I wish I would of done more research because I thought central was my only option but come to find out there's a whole lot of other companies out there that are better. They also push the lease program on you ALOT. They told us they give loads to o\o first...then lease operators...then company drivers get whatever is left over.

Cboynton they won't give you the school certificate unti you pay central back. I tried applyimg for other companies and all of them asked for a certificate.
